Shots in the Shade ...

After a few failed attempts at getting Theo's 5 month pics - we finally had success. There's been a lot that's been happening in our lives and hearts - God is definitely at work!! (here's a link to see what I recently wrote about - click here.)


But for the day to day kind of updates ...
Well for one, Milo's eyes are not as bad off as we had thought. His appt. get great & our new eye doctor is awesome. She's from MI too! (ROCK ON!) There was some change but so little that we don't have to get new lenses unless we really want to or feel need to. So hooray to that one.


Theo had his check up (& has another coming up again at the end of the month), but was 17 lbs. and 26 inches. We got a tall kiddo here - he's the 90th percentile for everything i think ... or least darn close. I guess if you're Keith kid, you're bond to be tall.

 The weather has been getting summery ... southern summery. So we spend our mid mornings outside before it gets too hot out. Hard to believe that, cause it's only June! crazy! But we have some good shade in the back by our porch until around the noon hour, so that's nice. Milo loves to pick flowers for momma & Theo loves to watch. We haven't had any strange or scary encounters with any gross bugs or animals yet... Mom is beyond thankful for that one. :)
Theo has begun teething - yay. Some days are worst then others & it's hard to tell yet if there are any real teeth popping thru yet, but everything goes straight in the month and he chews on ANYTHING. Favorites so far to calm and soothe: ice teethers from the freezer, mom's fingers, blankies, paci & the song "10,000 reasons" by Matt Maher soothes him whenever he gets too upset!

As a family we've enjoyed our weekends together. Saturdays are usually spent doing something around town & Sundays are spent with our Providence church family! We love our weekends!!! all together...
Theo just started "full time" baby food this week too. He's just gotten too hungry at night and between feedings to wait any longer. :) He seems to love it too - shocker. So far he's gotten, bananas, pears, squash, and rice cereal mixed with prune or apple juice. He still is on his special formula & will be until we switch to some kind of milk ... not sure how that'll go down due to his sensitivity, but we'll see.
Overall life has been going well. Milo, well Milo, is starting to test his limits with the "no's" & not listening - but what toddler doesn't do that?!!? He's learning and has good & bad days. We've adjusted nicely to a life in the South - the whole Southern hospitality thing has helped a lot. I love it!!
We just had our first taste of a "tropical storm" this week - altho it was not nearly as bad as they were anticipating - there was still lots of rain. It's odd to be in that kind of "zone" and have to look out for such kinds of weather. I guess it just comes with the territory.



I'm learning the ways of Skype and how lovely it can be. We have weekly skype dates with Nanny & have occasionally talked with your cousins (on both sides) & grandma and grandpa. It's so nice & makes the distance seems, well, not as far. So on those hards days I just call and ask to talk on the computer. Milo's caught onto it too ... he loves to talk to people on the "puter" ha!

There's No Place Like Home

This December marks the start of our 4th year in our old, cozy home. It's this time each year I begin to think of all the hard work that was put into making this old farmhouse our home. It took months of work, (mostly time of Grandpa Keith's), and lots of imagination. I remember when Daddy took me thru the first time, the place was SO dirty, run down, and in dire need of some TLC!! {FIVE.2019}

PRAISE GOD!! It is with the greatest joy we announce that our family has made it to the 50% mark in our monthly fundraising goal! Praise God! With that being said, we are setting new goals and continuing on with eager anticipation as to how God will work in the coming months. We've set some goals and are praying to be at 80% by October so we can attend the month long pre-field training near Asheville, NC. Our goal is reach Stockton-on-Tees at the beginning of the new year! In other news, God has been answering prayer here in our simple way of living in our front yard! I am writing a post dedicated to how God is moving and what we are doing, but until it's all done, I'll just recap it quickly. God has been bringing folks to our yard, expanding our friends in the neighborhood and making old things new and beautiful. {Monthly Minutes}

Sunday morning, watching The Pond before church  Well we finally have some form of internet out here in the boondocks. ha! Hopefully that means more posts... but I wouldn't hold your breath. So until I get better at this blogging things and keeping things up to date, here's a little recap and some fun highlights of where life is now. (and of course there's tons of pics at the end and thru it, because, well, i'm much better at capturing life then writing about it! ha!) First, Highlights! -Eddie is a cruising baby now. Dude, you are amazing at pulling up on just about anything and have only taken a few little falls. Determined to get to where you want, there's not much that keeps you still now, except food! You love food. Recently learned how delicious Ritz crackers are and watermelon. Bananas are still a fav though along with any fruit really. -We began fundraising!!!! WOOHOO!
