JUNE HIGHLIGHTS


nothing says summer like COOKOUTS!
Here in England they call them BBQ's, no matter what's on the grill.  
we've tried very hard to keep our dates with each kid a priority. 
This month T & Mom went to Wynard Woodland and explored with a picnic
Community garden clean up! 
What a day it was. So grateful for all those who helped and worked tirelessly for hours! 
The space already looks better 
This photo was taken at 10:53PM - and yes ... that's still sunlight going strong! 
The amount of light in the summer here in the Northeast is unbelievable 
just a little evening walk to a green space nearby. 
thsis month I had the privilege to show one of the teens here a bible for the first time!! 
this is our alley way ... and while it looks beautiful here, it isn't always a place of beauty. 
There's a few on the two streets it houses that work tirelessly every day, cleaning it up and beautifying it. Our family donated some plants and time helping out this summer and have enjoyed the quiet place to play while other kids are at a school. 
This girl turned SEVEN this month! 
WHAT!??!?! How can this even be? 
I am continually blow away at how this girl cares for others. 
Her heart for God has deep roots and I love that she chooses to share the gospel on a regular basis.

We played in the sunshine and relaxed as a family 
Her one wish was to take ice cream to the park after school so she could share with all the kids... 
so this is what we did!! 
English ... the language that seperates us! hahaha
Sabbath! 
We enjoy taking our sabbath in hammocks ... deep in the woods. 
We will pack lunch and snacks, books and toys, and set up camp for the afternoon. 
Nothing like resting in God's creation after a week of ministry to fill your cup! 
We released our butterflies this month as well! 
It's always a fun project to do with the kids.
E is flying thru his reading and school. 
We have been working with BOB books and doing one book at a time. 
As you can see, he is enjoying it A LOT.

we have filled our back garden space with lots of green!! 
This is M's clay robin. I am amazed at how talented my kids are. 
We are quickly learning to pause and catch the sun while we have it. 
While it always looks sunny in our pics, there's more cloud and gray then sun, so we growing accustomed to running out and enjoying play time while the clouds clear. It's what I like to call vitamin D time. 
This is our group at the beginning of our June 4th clean up. 
The group only got larger as the day went on!! 
We had folks from our neighborhood, church and the council all lending time and manpower. 
SO excited for this space.  
N was taking such good care of me after I received my vaccine. 
So good, in fact, that she ended up napping. 
Sweet girl! 
We discovered forest school this month and are SO excited for the friendships
and opportunities it will open. 
I mean it's school with bonfires, crafts, ponds, woodworking ... and playing in the rain! 
T has taken on a few new recipes himself. 
This is is stuffed zombie monsters (aka peppers) 
They were a hit and he learned what he wanted to tweek in the recipe
to make it better next time. 
constantly learning with joy! 
one of our afternoons at the park to burn off all that city energy! LOL 
BOOK RECOMMENDATION
Get your hands on a copy of this asap! 
Oh it had all of us in tears. The boys each read it solo, but we were able to discuss it together. 
WOW! Just wow! It's written as a graphic novel but the message is still on point. 
How eye opening. My boys came away with a bigger appreciation for life and for what others go through in their lives. They asked questions, we discussed issues.
Grateful for this read! 
in the middle of the city is a green space by the parish church ... 
In that space there is a simple bush/tree that is the perfect height for climbing 
and of course we have found it.

There's No Place Like Home

This December marks the start of our 4th year in our old, cozy home. It's this time each year I begin to think of all the hard work that was put into making this old farmhouse our home. It took months of work, (mostly time of Grandpa Keith's), and lots of imagination. I remember when Daddy took me thru the first time, the place was SO dirty, run down, and in dire need of some TLC!! But the little details and charm of the place got to me and I knew we just HAD to live here!! It was perfect. I fell in love. {21.SEPT}

 This month was the beginning of a new season. While the younger two continued homeschooling, the older two boys began at one of our local primary schools. There were a lot of nerves and some hesitation, but after a week of it, they both found their feet and really have enjoyed learning along with new friends and teachers. September is kinda like a new year here in the UK - everyone's schedules begin again after a 6 weeks break, so it's a way to begin fresh. A lot started back up, somethings for the first time since Covid hit! So we are back to enjoying life at, almost, the same speed as 2019. Worship team is back in full swing, the kids' evening groups began back, and after school clubs are still getting going, but are slowly begin added to our calendar. But we have set out to be purposeful when adding to our calendar and have guarded our family night, our ministry nights in our neighborhood and our Sabbaths. It's taken a few weeks, but I feel we are slowly evening it ...

{21 - MARCH}

March came and went in a flash! Wow, I can't believe it's over already. It was a delightful month that helped usher in spring and more sunshine. We spent a lot of time working hard at home with school work and then celebrated our hard work with, you guessed it, outdoor adventures! And with great joy, in the last week of March, our Stay at Home orders were lifted and we were able to explore outside of our town. What fun that opens up. We also can now have one family over, outside ... so we were able to enjoy the last week of March with others and boy, oh boy, did that ever lift our spirits.  This kid broke me down and began his Kindergarten work this month!  So proud of his hard work and dedication  we've tried very hard to keep our dates with each kid a top priority.  This month I had a date with this little girl and we got some take out and went to the park.  The sun wasn't shining too much, and it was a bit chilly, but it was a joy to be out and alone with my ...
