Seriously! How cool is it to think Tolkien could have pondered and dreamed under this same tree!? 
thankful for our friends who let us borrow their home while we were in Birmingham! 
Their garden was a dream!!
and their view wasn't too bad either!! :) 
E really missed NC from time to time, and this month he decided to make our neighbors from NC in lego form! And actually, I think it was rather on point! Nice work son!

this view never grows old! It always makes my heart jump and I stand in awe 
while hiking and walking thru the woods, we came across this scared baby Hedgehog!

after a week of GEM's annual conference, we spent our last day as a family and played a fun new game called Agricola! It was and still is a HUGE hit.

i love how we just add more plates and stretch our meals to feed more! 
A full table makes my heart happy!

of course we chose to get out in nature and soak in the sun while it was around

free produce just growing wild and able to pick at your leisure! 
SO COOL! we picked loads of blackberries this season.

Early in August we helped with a neighborhood family day where there were some kids olympics set up! A lot of kids won, but one of the kids awarded Schafer with a gold for best dog in Mill Lane! 
While I may be bias, I do think he deserves it! He is the very best and so gentle with all the kiddos around our estate. 
rainy days are spent with puzzles ... this only took them a few hours! 
I was super impressed.

our final family weekend before school began was spent among knights and a castle! 
What a fun time it was ... even if it did rain nearly the whole time!

after a tramatic sunday afternoon - this incident proved that we are not alone. 
After a bad fall with his scooter, E had to be taken for some glue and a good clean out of a bad cut under his nose. But we had a host of help and support and I am so grateful for each of new friends that are like family! :)

I began in worship team this month and am so excited to be back behind the mic again! 
it's the little things - the views that my breath away! 
apple season! August may be a bit early for a lot of folks but it isn't for us! 
We enjoyed making loads of applesauce and apple crisp. So much yummy! 
Ended the month with some amazing packages from across the sea!!! 
Thanks Poppy & Nanny! Our hearts are full!

There's No Place Like Home

This December marks the start of our 4th year in our old, cozy home. It's this time each year I begin to think of all the hard work that was put into making this old farmhouse our home. It took months of work, (mostly time of Grandpa Keith's), and lots of imagination. I remember when Daddy took me thru the first time, the place was SO dirty, run down, and in dire need of some TLC!! But the little details and charm of the place got to me and I knew we just HAD to live here!! It was perfect. I fell in love. {FIVE.2019}

PRAISE GOD!! It is with the greatest joy we announce that our family has made it to the 50% mark in our monthly fundraising goal! Praise God! With that being said, we are setting new goals and continuing on with eager anticipation as to how God will work in the coming months. We've set some goals and are praying to be at 80% by October so we can attend the month long pre-field training near Asheville, NC. Our goal is reach Stockton-on-Tees at the beginning of the new year! In other news, God has been answering prayer here in our simple way of living in our front yard! I am writing a post dedicated to how God is moving and what we are doing, but until it's all done, I'll just recap it quickly. God has been bringing folks to our yard, expanding our friends in the neighborhood and making old things new and beautiful. So Much Thankfulness

  This year, as many years before, there's SO much to be thankful for. Seriously tho, the list goes on forever. God blesses us so much every year and sometimes I think we take that for granted. His mercy and grace alone are enough to make Thanksgiving day full of overwhelming hearts and thankful spirits ... but He blesses us with SO much more. It's incredible. Not only does God forgive me and rescue me daily from my sins, He gives me a beautiful little family that loves me for me. A husband that is devoted and dedicated. A very cute little guy (that's you Milo Man!) that loves his mommy dearly and makes life so much more adventurous. Another cute guy that will be arriving oh so soon (hopefully). And parents that still take care of me, even when i least expect it.  These are just a few of the wonderful things that I am thankful for this year.  My salvation in Christ has taken on a new meaning in the past year; helping me to realize there's not much more in life that ...
