It's A ....

Okay so I could NOT be more excited to announce this, but will let the photos speak first. (because they are just so incredibly good! Thanks Melissa!!) (And a side note … a big thank you to you Milo man for being SO good for them! And so incredibly cute for them too!! All your faces and reactions were real … you really had no idea what was going on, but in the photos you look so sincere in finding out with us! Melts this momma's heart!!!!)

My incredible boss of Gregersen Photography, Melissa Gregersen, took some amazing photos and captured the look of our friends and family as they found out that we are adding another little BOY to the family!!! Oh Milo man, you're gonna LOVE having a brother – I just know it! And can already tell you guys are gonna have some fun together. I can only imagine the trouble too. Haha And looking at his profile from the u/s – he looks a lot like you. It's funny to say this early, but really your guys' profiles look SO similar!!! We held them up next to one another and got a shock! :) Can't wait to see what he looks like for real!!!! Oh and the name... of course! It took some time, but Dad & I have settled and agreed upon:

Theodore Iain Keith

Both Theodore & Iain mean “gift from God” - and that's just what he is!! An incredible gift and blessing from our Lord and Savior!!! We could not be happier! :) We of course won't be calling him by his formal name all the time, instead we'll have Theo! Milo & Theo. Two good old men names! :) haha Love it!! With a son named Milo, I felt like we had to find a unique and not so commonly used old fashion name. But we also want to stick with “gift from God” or something of similar nature. So it narrowed it down. And after both Dad & I did some sorting and sifting thru, knocking out names right and left, we both found the names we loved! And then put them together...

So here's little Theo, your younger brother and soon to be best bud!

We had a few scares tho after the u/s and party Wednesday. I started to get Braxton Hicks, some bad back pain, and cramping. I was monitored for a while both Thursday and Friday and after they had me refuel with water and Gatorade, and of course with lots of rest and laying low, things are settling down and are looking fine now. But it got our hearts racing. We are excited to meet Theo, but not this early!! So Theo & I had a talk and I've told him 1. he's not so funny right now 2. he has to stay put for at least another 15 weeks and 3. we love him very much and only want the best for him :) So hopefully the pep talk will last.

It's looking more and more like we're adding another blessing to our home. We just bought a pack n play yesterday and have it set up in our bedroom, where we'll have it for the first month or so after Theo arrives (it needs aired out – smells like plastic and that “new” smell just isn't working for me). And this week also marks the week where we'll be getting your big boy bed!! (Can NOT wait to see your cute face when Lightening McQueen is sitting in your room) And then we move the changing table and crib to Theo's room. All our bedrooms are getting a makeover of some kind... and it's SO exciting to see it all come together!! :)

You're beginning to catch on to more and more as well. You totally wanted the baby to have your pillow in the pack n play last night and kept asking to see “baby” in there after we got things set up. It was cute and dad & I explained a few things to you about pillows, babies, and how baby Theo isn't here yet. You seemed satisfied for the time, but this morning bounced out of bed and went in looking for baby again. :) so cute!! Hoping you're still as cute and curious about Theo when he gets here as you are now.

In other news … this week we got you a big boy bed. Lightening McQueen!! :) You absolutely love it!! Besides it being a big distraction for a few nights, it seems that you are doing well with it. We foolishly tried taking your paci away. And I do believe it was a foolish decision. We changed a lot all at once, between your room, Theo's room, mom&dad's room, and for us it was pretty much a peer pressure kind of thing. Where I felt I have to take it away because it was now or never. And I know some parents won't agree with us, but we have to learn that's okay! We are doing whats best for our family, and that's what matters. After about the 5^th day of frustration – literally you were frustrated, angry, SUPER naughty, and SO very tired and after lots of thought, prayer, and discussion between dad & I we decided that letting you have your paci back wasn't that big of deal to us. We really had/have no problem with it... you take it just at night time or nap time, and don't run around with it. You know you have to leave it in your bed/with momma when you get up. The very instant we gave it back toyou, you put it in your mouth and your thumbs/fingers started rubbing your corners of the blankie and your eyes started drifting away. So to sum it up, we felt/feel that we will take it away when so many, many things aren't changing and doing it with the right motives... when we feel you are too big or it's becoming a distraction. And we are behind it 100%.

 

We've also added a new favorite movie to your growing list. Along side Buzz, Boo, & Georgie you now have what you call Bubbles. :) Or “Meet the Robinsons” - one of mom's favorites too. :) You really love that the movie has a lot of bubbles in it. :) And it also has space ships or time machines but you get excited about those too. And your growing vocab is helping to make communication a lot easier. Don't get me wrong, you still have melt downs of frustration and can't always seem to get out exactly what you want us to know but we are getting there. Putting two and sometimes three words together to ask for things or talk about things … very fun for this momma to see and hear!! Today you pointed at my corn on the cob at dinner time and said “momma's corn” and then to yours “milo man's corn” :) So direct and understandable. Music to our ears!! And you seem so proud of yourself at times too. To be able to tell us what you want/need. Altho you are still learning that even tho you may ask with a “lease” and oh so very nicely, you cant' always get what you want. But that's still a toughy for this mom too. :)

CHALK!!! :) you've recently discovered the funness of chalk!! And momma had fun writing out our family :) love seeing all our names and our favorite animal friends :) 

Oh you and Georgie ... been inseparable!!! :) can't wait to do your 2 year photo shoot post... but that's next time! :)
