{Season Change}

In about a month's time, our lives will be transforming through yet another season change. Another move, a mission and vision and end goal in mind when it comes to the Mission Field, and fundraising will be in (hopefully) full swing. With that, I wanted to pause the season in which we are about to end and just relish in all it's beauty, the mess, and capture it just as it is.

Memories were made in this far from perfect city home; this is the home where we brought home a new child, where we finally finished our missions application and where we came home to after being commissioned into the mission field! This home has seen battles, tantrums, and fits of giggles, along with plenty of smelly farts. {yes i inserted this as a certain 6 year old came by to ask a question and fart too - oh boys!}

I've always been hesitant about posting photos of our home. It's far from a Better Homes & Gardens magazine and not what I imagine of a perfect oasis of cozy and calm. But alas, it is our home. Our place of comfort and our refuge from the cold winter winds and snows and from the hot summer blaze. It's been good to us even through the slammed doors and the spills and even through the dog chewing through the rug {ouch! that's gonna hurt our deposit!} So I captured it just as it was. No cleaning up before hand and no special inserts... just our home. With toys thrown around, school days a blaze and naptime peeking through.

that dishwasher right there, that was quit the selling point for me! holla!!!

Yup, that's our school corner in the middle of the day. Messy and kinda cluttered, not perfect but it's what we do!
this was my wall of cozy comfort. my wall of beauty amidst city limits.

and this is a new normal mess. imaginations. bonding time. and learning to share. it happens all right here in front of this beautiful, dreamy dollhouse.
and sometimes it's hard to see Eddie with all the toys yall like to get out for him
this is a certain little girl, who is suppose to be napping...

our bedroom. another canvas of calm and beauty. brought comfort during nights of chaos.

was an elated gal to have my headboard and footboard back... i felt so grown up!

A new season will bring it's up and downs, but I hope we remember this season as a fairly well rounded one. A year of answers and a big blessing. A year of anxiety that turned a heart towards it's maker more securely then ever. A year where an 8 year marriage grew deeper in love and more confident in one another then ever before. A year of birthday parities and a year of family picnics, bike rides, and checking in our great grandpoppy. A beautiful and messy year.

Seasons change just as people do. And I do believe this year has changed us to become a happier, securer, and more define family of faith. A family who savors the time we have together and who likes to giggle and wrestle often, even though our living room has absolutely no padding. And when we drive through this side of town this time next year I hope our heart aches just a bit as we remember all we did and all the growth, love, happiness, and even the sadness creeps back into our minds. These days, this home, it's been a ride. And it's been a blessing to be here for the first year of our new baby church! Now though, now we must pick up and prepare for a bigger season and change that is on the horizon. I pray that this in between season is good and that it is filled with a lot of beautiful firsts, as I know towards the end, it'll be filled with many tear filled lasts. There's beauty in change and so we will live a beautiful life together.

our constant mess of project supplies, always out and at it during nap time. this kid is an awesome engineer!

This sweet boy and his naps. A precious sight to see each afternoon
