Catch Up

Image
Seems I've let too much time elapse again... darn it all. I wanted to be so good about keeping up to date. Sorry I've let it slide. So this post may be a bit longer then normal. There's a lot to catch up on. First off. At the beginning of the month we took a nice long road trip to New Jersey to visit your Uncle Jesse, Aunt Deb, Alex, Tristan and BugaBoo (aka Danica). It was 11 long hours in the car ... you did alright actually. Better then i thought. A melt down around your nap time and a bit fussy towards the end - but we were all ready by that point to be done and out of the van! Poppy, Nanny, myself and you all tracked across the Eastern Side of the USA together, stopping (i think) 3 times.  We spent the first evening just getting acquainted with one another again. But had a fun filled weekend - Saturday morning Alex had ball practice and was thrilled to have us tag along and watch. You took this opportunity to try out dirt all it had to offer. This from the kid who ...

long weekend...

Seems as tho this virus you have/had surely took it's time leaving. We spent all weekend home with you... even had to visit the doc again to make sure things were still looking clear. Your fever got pretty high 102.4 and you spent friday night into saturday morning moaning, groaning, and wanting held. I felt HORRIBLE. There was pretty much nothing I could do except hold you and rock you. So that's what I did. We spent a whole lot of time snuggled up with your blankets ... but we also spent a WHOLE lot of time watching movies and letting your rest. We had of watched Monster's Inc. at least 20 times - or that's what it feels like at least. :) but you enjoyed it, and you pretty much laid in my lap or on your blankets the whole time. Between the little movement you made and the little to no appetite you had I knew something was really truly not right. That was part of the reason we went to the Docs again... I was worried you were getting dehydrated with such a high fever an...

fevers, coughs, and sniffles

It takes a lot to keep you down. Yesterday you woke with a temp of 100.1, a cough that sounds horrific, and a nasty, gooey nose - all from a bad virus that is going around and taking kids out left and right. Not much the doc can "treat" as of now, your lungs and ears were clean and clear (which is a relief); but that doesn't help much cuz you still feel bad. :( And there is nothing in this world that is worse then having your own child sick and feeling bad and not be able to do much. Tylenol has been our friend, but even with that you ran a 100-101 temp all day today. After you soda bath tonight tho, it seemed to be going down in the right direction. it's horrible. i hate seeing you sick and achy. We've spent lots of time cuddling at in the evenings, and watched your FAVORITE movie - Monster's Inc. - quit a lot in the past two days. I took in the moment tonight, as I rocked you to sleep. We snuggle with your green blankie between you and I, with your fingers ...

colorful days ...

Today was a very fun day stranded at home. See one of our vehicle has broken down, so we are left with just one car ... so Daddy is taking that to work and we get extra time at home together. :) So today we spent some time playing with paint and spending extra, quality time together. It was fantastic!!! Lots of laughs and great memories, altho it would be unfair to say there weren't any meltdowns either, but we worked thru them and got onto the funness! :)   I just can't get over your bed head after nap... it's SO stinkin' cute!!   You love lunch, well you love any meal time really. :)   You small lil' hands at work ...   An artist at work :) it was so fun to watch you paint.  so proud of your finished work of art :)   adding the finishing touches...  seriously ... YOU ARE ADORABLE! i LOVE you so much!!  this picture is just so precious to me! with the paint on the nose and everything.   waiting so patien...

challenged

We've spend a weekend apart... and at times it felt like a lifetime. It was great to be "free" from the responsibilities of parenting, but after a weekend away I'm ready for snuggles, laughter, tears, and the challenges being a mommy takes. Whatever it is ... as long as I have my Milo Man back. :) We spent the weekend at Lake Ann with the teens from our awesome youth group. It was a great, fun, and snowy weekend up north - but while I was gone I was once again reminded how great my life is. How good do I have it and I take advantage of it ... far too often! God challenged me while away and I'm taking His challenge. Relying solely on Him and TRUSTING in Him for HIS plan ... not mine. Altho it'll be hard, and I expect to get knocked on my feet at times, I'm super excited to see where God takes us on this next big adventure!!! Stay Tuned....

snow fall

Ah, it's days like these that make me wonder what i have done to be so incredibly blessed. I seriously don't deserve all I have, and thank the Lord daily for letting me be a mommy to you. That is top of my list... the BEST thing. And i won't be able to do such an amazing job, without an amazing man behind the scenes, taking care of the bigger stuff. We both knew that when we had kids, we both wanted me to stay home - and be a mommy to them. Little did we know just how fantastic of a job it is but how faithful we have to be. There are times i wonder why and think i can have both world. When in reality, there's only one job that truly matters and counts. Being your mom and being home with you every day truly reaps it's rewards. I've seen you grow right before my eyes. And i swear there are days you literally grow while you are napping and wake up and inch longer! :) But to be able to watch you develop into a little man, who laughs, talks, walks, runs, explores, ge...

To our Milo Man ...

After the recent loss of our lil' one, I've come to realize there are things in this life that aren't worth passing up or forgetting. I know I've tried keeping a journal of memories, thoughts, feelings, updates, and laughter; but I wanted something more for you... something you can look back on and see what a life of blessings and joys we really have. Thru the ups and downs, there's one thing that remains ... God is there, He loves us, and if we fully trust on Him - our lives can be truly blessed beyond measures. You are a prime example of this. Milo, you have been the biggest blessing. You are always there to put a smile on our face or know just when to give us that hug around the neck. So as I try real hard to keep this blog up and running for you ... I pray that you will one day be able to look back on your childhood and see just how blessed and just how joyous it all was :) We love you beyond words!!! -mom xoxo
